Yes. this site is free to use. It is managed by the USFS.
Mosquito Flat is at the end of Rock Creek Road. Exit Highway395 at Tom 's Place(approximately 13 miles south of Mammoth Lakes, 30 miles north of Bishop). Follow Rock Creek Road (FS 12) to the end, about 10 miles. This road is closed in winter.
Single night use only. Dogs must always be on leash and under owner control. Maximum stay 14 days. Active bear area. All food must be secured overnight and when not attended; bear boxes are provided and must be used (typical bear box size 48" x 30" x 36"). Always keep a clean camp and do not feed wildlife.
