Snag Lake Campground is located five miles north of Bassetts on the Gold Lake Road adjacent to Snag Lake. There are 12 undesignated campsites with space for small trailer use- vault toilets and lake water source, purify before drinking. This area offers an abundance of beautiful high mountain lakes with a variety of accessibility along with scenic rugged geological features of granitic ridges and glacially serrated rock outcroppings.

No. Snag Lake Campground charges a fee. It is managed by the USFS. Sites are reservable through fs.usda.gov.
From Hwy 49 at Sierra City: Drive 4 1/2 miles to Bassett's Station. Turn left on Gold Lake Hwy. Continue for 5 miles to Snag Lake Campground. From 89 N to 49 N: Drive 13 miles west to Bassett's Station. Turn right on Gold Lake Hwy. Continue for 5 miles to Snag Lake Campground.
