About this place

Located next to a protected mountain meadow, Playground Group Site is shaded by ponderosa pines and lies at 7000' elevation. Mingus Lake is a short distance up the road, and trails in the area are abundant. There are 12 picnic tables, 3 large BBQ grills, and a large fire pit.

No. Playground Campground charges a fee. It is managed by the USFS. Sites are reservable through recreation.gov.

How do I get to Playground Campground?

Take Highway 89A for 7 miles southwest of Jerome, or 13 miles east of Prescott Valley, to Forest Road 104 (by the Summit Picnic Area). Take Forest Road 104 for approximately 1.5 miles. Playground Group Campground is on the left side of the road.
