This group campground is situated in a tall ponderosapine forest, approximately 3/4 of a mile from Woods Canyon Lake,which offers boating (electric motors only) and fishing opportunities. The Rim Lakes Vista Trail which provides spectacular views of the Mogollon Rim can be accessed by the Meadow Trail and is approximately 1/4 mile away .Freeinterpretive nature programs are available togroups who stay at Crook Campground.Programs must be scheduled well ahead of arrival. No. Crook Cg charges a fee. It is managed by the USFS. Sites are reservable through recreation.gov.
Directions from Heber: Travel 25 miles west on State Highway 260. Turn Right onto FR 300whichis located directly across from the Rim Visitor Information Station. Travel aboutfour miles north of State Highway 260 toward Woods Canyon Lake on Forest Road 300 turn Right onto FR 105 toward Woods Canyon. Watch for signs for Crook Campground. From Payson: Travel approximately 30 miles east on State Highway 260. When you top out on the rim, take the first Left onto FR 300 (located directly across the highway from the Rim Visitor Information Station) Travel about three miles north on the 300 Road. Turn Right onto FR 105 toward Woods Canyon Lake. Watch for signs for Crook Campground. Campground is located near the junction of Forest Road 300 and Forest Road 105
