Deer Creek Guard Station is 14 gravel miles up Greys River Rd from Alpine, just past Murphy Campground. Bunkbeds accommodate 8 people summer water is provided for kitchen and bathroom. Propane heat, cookstove and lights offer rustic amenities. Winter outhouse is nearby. In the summer, Forest Service horses may be grazing around the compound, so vehicles may be left outside the pasture gate if preferred. A visitor corral is provided behind the cabin as well. From the Town of Alpine, Wyoming, head east on Greys River Road /Forest Service Road 10138 (FS-10138) and follow it for approximately 8 miles. Bear right at the junction staying on FS-10138 and follow it southeast for an additional 6 miles, then turn left on FS-10137 into Deer Creek Guard Station. Approximate travel details from the Town of Alpine: 14 miles, 20 minutes.
