For horseback riders, this campground offers unparalleled access to the most scenic trail riding in our region. Ride from your campsite to enjoy a spectacular day of riding in the Mount Rogers High Country that is arguably the best in the eastern U.S. Horse owners need to have a current negative Coggins test certificate for any horse that they take to a public place for recreational use in Virginia.

No. Fox Creek Horse Campground charges a fee. It is managed by the USFS. Sites are reservable through fs.usda.gov.
From I-81: Take exit 45 at Marion, VA. Then take State Route 16 south for 17 miles to Troutdale, VA. Turn right onto State Route 603 (Laurel Valley Road) and follow it for approximately four miles to the campground on the right.
