About this place
Large grassy fields are the first things you'll see when you enter Craig Creek Day Use Area, but the creek itself is the real highlight. Generations of families have enjoyed the swimming hole here and it's still a great place to escape the heat of summer. Canoeists can use the area as a put-in or take-out point and enjoy an easy paddle on the warm waters of Craig Creek. A grassy field inside the day use area may be reserved for group camping

From I-81: From exit 141, take SR 419 north to SR 311. In New Castle, turn right onto SR 615 and go 11 miles to SR 817 in Oriskany. Turn right on SR 817, go 0.5 mile then take right at sign for Craig Creek. Driving distance from I-81 is 31 miles; estimated time 50 minutes
