San Pedro Campground is open year-round and rarely fills to capacity. Of Amistad's campgrounds, it is the best suited for large RVs. This campground is accessed via a 1¼ mile graded, gravel road and offers 34 sites suitable for tents or RVs. There are also 8 walk-in (tent only) sites. Each site has a covered picnic table and a BBQ grill. Ground fires are prohibited. Vault toilets are available. No drinking water or hook-ups.

What is the weather like at San Pedro Campground?

The climate at Amistad is semi-arid in moisture and subtropical in temperature. Summers are long, hot, and frequently humid; winters are mild varying between sunny, warm, cloudy, and cool weather. Nearly 80% of annual rain occurs April - October with thunderstorms and heavy downpours often resulting in flash flooding. The limited precipitation in November - March is drizzle. What are the rules at San Pedro Campground?

Site capacity is not to exceed eight persons and one recreational vehicle camping unit (three vehicles total). Vehicles must be parked in designated parking areas only and may not be driven off-road. Visitors can stay in a campground up to 14 consecutive nights with a limit of 60 nights in the park in a calendar year. Quiet hours are 10pm to 6am. Check out time is 11am. Ground fires and glass bottles are prohibited.
