Twenty-six primitive, numbered campsites are dotted along the Clarion Wild and Scenic River from Irwin Run up to and along Millstone Creek. Campsites can be reached via River Road and FR 132. In this area, dispersed camping is only allowed at the numbered sites. You will find 17 campsites along the Clarion River and 9 campsites along Millstone Creek. Each campsite has a hardened parking spot and a rock fire ring. Information signs and vault toilets are located at Irwin Run, Robin Island, and Millstone Creek Canoe Launches. Yes. Clarion River Campsites is free to use. It is managed by the USFS.
From Marienville Turn onto South Forest Street (SR 3002) and follow it approximately 6 miles to Loleta Recreation Area. Cross Millstone Creek and turn right (SW) onto Millstone Road (FR 132), across from the entrance to the Loleta Day Use area. Follow Millstone Road towards the Clarion River. Camping starts on the right after the pipeline, with sites numbered from M9 to M1. At the intersection of Millstone Road and River Road, go straight (S) to get to the Clarion River Campsites, numbered C1 to C17. From Cook Forest Turn from SR 36 east onto River Road. Cross SR 899 - a right (SE) onto SR 899 and then left (E) onto River Road (SR 2006) at Clarington. Go through Clarington and continue on River Road to the stop sign at Millstone Road (FR 132). Turn right (S) to continue on River road and access campsites C1 to C17 or turn left (N) to access Millstone campsites M1 to M9. From I-80 Eastbound Take Exit 73 to get onto SR 949. Stay on SR 949 until its intersection with SR 3001 (approximately 16 miles). Turn left (N) and cross the bridge over the Clarion River. Turn left (W) for campsites C4-C1 and M1-M9. Turn Right (E) for campsites C5-C17. From I-80 Westbound Take exit 78 to get onto SR 36. Follow SR 36 approximately 8 miles to SR 949. Turn right (E) onto SR 949 and follow it approximately 8. 5 miles to Bridge Road. Cross the Clarion River (N) on Bridge Road. Turn left (W) onto River Road for sites C4- C1 and M1-M9. Turn Right (E) onto River Road for sites C5-C17.
