Hart-tish is a well developed and popular recreation site with an extensive day use area, and an adjacent boat ramp and a small campground. Hart-tish park is one of the few Forest Service campgrounds with several acres of beautifully groomed lawn sloping down to the water 's edge. From Hart-tish one can look south across the lake to the peaks of the majestic Red Butte Wilderness. Many picnic sites are available in shaded areas next to the beach. No. Hart-Tish Recreation Complex charges a fee. It is managed by the USFS. Sites are reservable through fs.usda.gov.
From Jacksonville, OR, travel south 6.5 miles on Highway 238 to Ruch, OR, and turn left on to Upper Applegate Road (County Road 859). Continue 16 miles to Hart-tish, about 0.5 mile past (south) dam.
