Located on the edge of Forest Service land in the Maury Mountains and nestled under large ponderosa pine trees, this campground is relatively easy to reach yet still has a secluded feel. ; It is conveniently located near the Maury Mountain agate beds which host red, green, and gold moss agates. How do I get to Elkhorn Campground?
From Prineville: Travel southeast on Highway 380 for about 32 miles. Turn south onto Forest Service Road 16 and continue for about 5 miles. Elkhorn Campground will be on your left, just past the National Forest Boundary.
What are the rules at Elkhorn Campground?
There is a 14 day stay limit on all National Grassland and US Forest Service land including but not limited to campgrounds and other developed facilities.
