Located 20 minutes south of Silver Lake, Oregon, East Bay is a desirable campground located at the base of Hager Mountain on the shores of Thompson Reservoir. Enjoy gorgeous views of the mountain and shady campsites thanks to mature ponderosa pines throughout the campground. Eighteen spacious campsites accommodate tent and RV camping. Amenities include picnic tables, fire rings, potable water, and three vault toilets and a boat launch when water levels are conducive. East Bay offers excellent fishing and boating opportunities on Thompson Reservoir. There is no dock at the present time but boaters can easily back their boat down the ramp into the water. Thompson Reservoir is stocked with rainbow trout on an annual basis. Other adjacent activities include access to the Fremont National Recreation Trail #160, and Hager Mountain.

East Bay Campground is located 25 minutes south of Silver Lake, Oregon. From Silver Lake Ranger District, take Oregon Highway 31 east for less than a half mile and then turn right onto County Highway 4-12 (also known as East Bay Road). County Highway 4-12 will become Forest Service Road 28. Continue on Forest Road 28/County Highway 4-12 for 13 miles and take a right on Forest Road 2800-014. East Bay Campground will be at the end of the road beside Thompson Reservoir.
