About this place

Deadhorse Lake campground is located one hour 20 minutes south of Paisley, Oregon; situated on Deadhorse Lake, a high-mountain lake with grassy and pebble beaches. The lake, elevation 7372 feet, spans 31 acres and is stocked with rainbow trout. There are nine tent and trailer sites, all with picnic tables and fire grills. It also features seven group campsites. Some larger sites are located further from the lakeshore. There is also a hand pump for potable water. Deadhorse Lake, great for fishing, swimming, and boating (non-motorized or electric motors only), features a boat launch and separate day use area. All camping is first-come, first-served, and weekends and holidays are generally full. Nearby access to the Lakes Trail System.

Deadhorse Lake Campground is located approximately 1 hour and 10 minutes northeast of Bly, Oregon, 20 minutes southwest of Paisley, Oregon, and approximately 1 hour and 17 minutes northwest of Lakeview, Oregon. From the Bly Ranger District Office take Oregon Highway 140 east toward Lakeview, Oregon. Go approximately 1.5 miles to County Road 1210/Campbell Road. Turn left, go approximately 0.5 miles to Forest Service Road 34. Turn right, go approximately 24.6 miles to Forest Service Road 28. Turn left, go approximately 5.9 miles to Forest Service Road 2800-033. Turn left, approximately 3.3 miles to campground. From the Paisley District office take Highway 31 North/West Street approximately 11.8 miles to Forest Service Road-29. Turn left, go approximately 11.4 miles to Forest Service Road 28. Turn left, go approximately 11.8 miles to Forest Service Road 2800-033. Turn right, go approximately 3.3 miles to campground. From the Lakeview Ranger district Office take highway 395 north towards Paisley, Oregon. Go 4.5 miles to County highway 2-16/Thomas Creek Road. Turn left, go 4.4 miles to County highway 2-16/Forest Service Road 28, turn right. Go approximately 16.2 miles, slight right to stay on Forest Service Road 28. Continue approximately 12 miles to Forest Service Road 2800-033, turn left. Go 3.3 miles to campground.
