How do I get to Sapillo?

From Mimbres, follow New Mexico Highway 35 north for about 15 miles to the signed Sapillo Campground on the south (left) side of Highway 35, near milepost 20.

What are the rules at Sapillo?

A 14-day stay limit applies. Dogs on leash. Target shooting and hunting are prohibited in the campground. Pack out your trash - Do not deposit trash in fire rings. All stock feed brought onto the Gila National Forest must be certified weed free. There is little to no dead and down firewood available in the area. Visitors are advised to bring their own or use charcoal or propane for cooking.
