This campground, off Forest Road #227, is located adjacent to the Little Blackfoot River. Kading campground is also located adjacent to the proposed Electric Peak Wilderness Area and provides wonderful opportunities to camp, hunt, fish and hike. A nearby trail heads south to Blackfoot Meadows. The trail continues south into the Beaverhead-Deerlodge National Forest, emerging near the Whitehouse Campground. A small public corral is located across the road from the campground.

The season on record runs May 20 to October 1. Dates move with weather and with the managing office, so check before a shoulder-season trip.
Located 40 miles southwest of Helena, in the Little Blackfoot drainage, the campground can be reached via U.S. Highway 12, turning south onto the Little Blackfoot Road just east of Elliston. From this intersection, it will be approximately 16 miles to the campground. It is located on the east or left side of the road, directly across from the entrance to Kading cabin.
The maximum length recommended trailer length for the area is 16ft.
