Twin Knobs Recreation Area is a 700-acre facility located off KY 801 on the north shore of Cave Run Lake. This family-friendly recreation area includes a large campground with tent and RV sites, three group use areas, bath houses with showers, scenic foot trails with overlooks, and nearby boat ramps with vehicle and boat trailer parking. A sandy beach with a roped swimming area offers visitors a spectacular view of the lake. Volleyball courts, basketball hoops and horseshoe pits provide local entertainment. RV sites range from electric-only to full hookups. There is an RV dump station. A campground store with ice, firewood, camping gear and food is on-site. The three group use areas are reservable: East (capacity up to 100 persons), West (capacity up to 180 persons), and Tent Area (capacity up to 60 persons).
