About this place
Silver Jack Campground has 60 campsites around three loops - Chipeta, Ouray and Sapinero. Each loop is heavily wooded with aspen and a few spruce trees with an understory of tall grass and wildflowers. The campground is convenient to the Silver Jack Reservoir and a network of trails around the Cimarron Ridge. One of the three loops is often used for groups, and reservable. The other two loops are for individual campers on a first come first served basis. There are no close communities to get provisions so visitors need to bring everything they need.

From Montrose, CO, drive east on US Highway 50 to County Road 858 (Forest Access/Silver Jack Reservoir sign). Turn south on County Road 858 and travel approximately 18 miles, past Big Cimarron and Beaver Lake Campgrounds, and turn right at the Silver Jack Campground sign.
