This campground has 10 campsites for TENT CAMPING ONLY at an elevation of 6,400 ft. Full service camping begins May 1 and continues until the weekend after Labor Day weekend in September.All dates are weather dependent. Dates of operation below are dates visitors may expect full service. The area also has an extended season when services such as water, trash or a host may not be available between January 1, 2021 and December 31, 2021.

No. Platte River Campground charges a fee. It is managed by the USFS. Sites are reservable through recreation.gov.

How do I get to Platte River Campground?

From Denver: Take U.S. Highway 285 to Pine Junction. Take south on Jefferson County Road 126 and drive for approximately 25 miles to Douglas County 67 at Deckers. Campground is located 4 miles north of Deckers on right hand side. From Sedalia: Take U.S. Highway 67 from Sedalia to Sprucewood. Stay on 67 South (straight) until you reach pavement at the South Platte River. Go 1 mile south. Campground is on left hand side.

What are the rules at Platte River Campground?

REMEMBER! You must be in a designated campground to stay overnight. Fires are permitted ONLY in the campgrounds, no fires are allowed in the picnic areas. NO SHOOTING ALLOWED! Much of the property along the river is privately owned. Please respect the posted signs. Additional, the following restrictions apply to this campground : Maximum 8 persons per site: 2 tents and 2 vehicles. Dogs must be leashed at all times. No discharge of firearms or fireworks. Only licensed vehicles can operate inside campground.
