This rustic campground is located approximately seven miles north of Woodland Park at 7800 ft. elevation and has 18 campsites with parking areas up to 30 ft. Each site has a picnic table and fire ring. There is drinking water available in the campground, as well as trash dumpsters and vault toilets. While most sites have ponderosa pine shade, some are in full sun. The campground opens for Memorial Day weekend and closes just after Labor Day weekend. This campground is a standard, non-electric site. All dates are weather dependent. Dates of operation below are dates visitors may expect full service.

No. Painted Rocks Campground charges a fee. It is managed by the USFS. Sites are reservable through recreation.gov.
From Colorado Springs, Colorado, travel west on Highway 24 for approximately 18 miles to Woodland Park, turn north onto State Highway 67 and travel 7 miles to Painted Rocks Road on the left side of highway. Take the gravel road approximately 1/2 mile to the campground entrance on the left side of road.
The following restrictions apply to this campground : Dogs must be leashed at all times. No discharge of firearms or fireworks. Only licensed vehicles can operate inside campground. Camping is NOT ALLOWED behind a LOCKED GATE. Potable water. There is water available in the campground. Limited water available - no water hookups.
