Lake Irwin Campground is bordered on the east by Lake Irwin and on the west by the Ruby Mountains. This rugged terrain provides challenging mountain biking and hiking nearby, and the fishing is excellent. The area is very picturesque and filled with wildflowers in July and August.

No. Lake Irwin Campground charges a fee. It is managed by the USFS. Sites are reservable through recreation.gov.
From Crested Butte, CO, travel west on Gunnison County Road 12, Kebler Pass Road, for 6.5 miles to Forest Road 826, Lake Irwin Road. Continue on Forest Road 826 for two miles to the campground.
This is bear country: campers must properly store food and other attractants.
