About this place
Erickson Springs Campground is in a dense spruce and fir forest near Anthracite Creek and receives little sunlight, so it is cooler than much of the surrounding area. Each site has a tent pad and can accommodate smaller camping trailers, a picnic table and a fire ring/grill. There is a picnic area near the campground, and a separate ATV parking area nearby. The Dark Canyon Trailhead is just past the campground and provides access to the Raggeds Wilderness Area via the Dark Canyon Trail #830. OHV/ATV users ride nearby Forest Road #795 (Munsey Creek Road), which extends north from Erickson Springs Campground to the Raggeds Trailhead and Raggeds Trail #820.

From Paonia, CO, travel northeast on Highway 133 for approximately 15 miles to County Road 12, Kebler Pass Road. Turn onto County Road 12 and continue east for approximately six miles to the intersection with the Erickson Springs Campground Road, just after crossing the bridge. This road accesses the Erickson Springs Campground, Erickson Springs Picnic Site, and Dark Canyon Trailhead.
