Salmon Creek is located two miles north of Bassetts on the Gold Lake Highway near Salmon Creek. There are 31 campsites, seven of which have space for trailers. It has vault toilets and piped water. Salmon Creek Campground is surrounded by lodgepole pine and cedar trees. This area offers an abundance of beautiful high mountain lakes with a variety of accessibility along with scenic rugged geological features of granitic ridges and glacially serrated rock outcroppings.

No. Salmon Creek Campground charges a fee. It is managed by the USFS. Sites are reservable through recreation.gov.
From Hwy 49 at Sierra City: Drive 4 1/2 miles to Bassett 's Station. Turn left on Gold Lake Hwy. Continue for 2 miles on Gold Lake Hwy to campground. From 89 N to 49 N: Drive 13 miles headed west to Bassett 's Station. Turn right on Gold Lake Hwy. Continue for 2 miles on Gold Lake Hwy to campground.
Camping outside designated campground is prohibited in this area
