Ripstein Campground is normally available on a first-come, first-serve basis. There are 10 tent-only sites, some are walk in only. The majority of tent sites have food lockers to deter habituation of black bears.

Yes. Ripstein Campground is free to use. It is managed by the USFS.
From the Big Bar Ranger Station, travel Hwy 299 east 15 miles to Junction City making a left turn onto Canyon Creek Road. Once on Canyon Creek road, travel about 10 miles to the campground entrance.
