Lakes Basin Campground is situated in the ruins of a mountain lodge. Some of the old stonework still exists, including steps leading into a deep swimming hole on Gray Eagle Creek. This campground is within easy reach of many trails leading to crystal clear alpine lakes.

No. Lakes Basin Family Campground . charges a fee. It is managed by the USFS. Sites are reservable through recreation.gov.
From Graeagle take Highway 89 Southeast three miles to Gold Lake Highway. Proceed on Gold Lake Highway about 9 miles to the entrance to Lakes Basin Campground, Round Lake Trailhead and Mt. Elwell Lodge. The turn into the campground is less than a mile away. Be prepared for a sharp right turn.
