No. Big Meadows Campground charges a fee. It is managed by the USFS. Sites are reservable through fs.usda.gov.
From Bishop go north on Hwy 395approximately 23 miles (or South from Mammoth Lakes 10 miles) to Toms Place. Turn west on Rock Creek Road approximately 5 miles. Big Meadow Campground will be on your right about 1/2 mile past Iris Meadow Campground.
Dogs must always be on leash and under owner control. Maximum stay 14 days. Active bear area. All food must be secured overnight and when not attended; bear boxes are provided and must be used (typical bear box size 48" x 30" x 36"). Always keep a clean camp and do not feed wildlife.
