About this place

BATES CANYON (Campground) Nestled in a grove of large oaks and sycamores. There are six campsites located around a loop in the middle of the facility. Each site includes a picnic table and fire ring. Fires are allowed only in designated fire rings. Pets are allowed. There are two vault toilets available.

How do I get to Bates Canyon?

From Santa Maria, California travel approximately 40 miles east on Highway 166. Turn right onto Cottonwood Canyon Road. Travel sowthwest on Cottonwood Canyon Road. Proceed onto Bates Canyon Road (Forest route 11N01). Campsite will be to the left.
