About this place

The Eldorado National Forest is undertaking deferred maintenance and restoration work on the historic Alder Ridge Lookout Cabin with the possibility of converting the structure into a recreation rental for public use in the future. Alder Ridge Lookout Cabin was originally constructed in 1937 by the Forest Service with assistance from the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC). The facility was determined eligible for inclusion in the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP) in 1990.
