Yes. Fr 171 Campground is free to use. It is managed by the USFS. It is a dispersed area, so there are no hookups, no water and no trash service unless a report below says otherwise.
Forest Road 171 is located on the south side of Highway 260 at milepost 282 just past the Mogollon Rim Visitor Center. The Al Fulton Picnic area utilizes the first 1/2 mile of forest road 171 and is open for Day Use Only. Camping area has 48 sites that stretch from the Al Fulton Picnic area to the Young Road/Forest Road 512.
When Fire Restrictions are in effect, no fires are allowed on Forest Road 171. Designated dispersed camping area. Camp within numbered sites only. No fires when fire restrictions are in effect. Help us keep this area free for use by being good stewards of your public lands and pack out everything you bring in. Leave the area better than how you found it. Quiet hours are from 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. NO music, generators, loud talking/laughing, during quiet hours.
