The Swan Lake A-frame cabin was rebuilt in 2005 and has an oil heater (#1 stove oil only), 2 single bunks, sleeping loft, wooden table and benches, outhouse, and 2 rowboats with oars. Life jackets, stove oil, bedding, and cooking utensils are not provided. The cabin is surrounded by the steep peaks of the Cosmos Range. Be prepared, as poor weather can result in an extended stay.

No. Swan Lake Cabin Site charges a fee. It is managed by the USFS. Sites are reservable through recreation.gov.
On an alpine lake (1514 ' or 461 m elevation) east of Thomas Bay on the mainland northeast of Petersburg - 18 air miles (29 km) from Petersburg. Float plane when lake is open. Helicopter when lake is frozen. Some years the lake does not thaw until July. Call floatplane companies to ensure access to cabin.
