The McDonald Lake shelter is 3-sided shelter that was constructed in the 1930's by the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC). The shelter is on the edge of Wolverine Creek and provides great opportunities for wildlife observation and fishing. The shelter can be accessed by hiking about 1 mile on the McDonald Lake trail from Yes Bay.

McDonald Lake is located on Cleveland Peninsula north of Yes Bay. The shelter site is near the outlet of McDonald Lake. It is accessible by floatplane or boat and is about 50 miles from Ketchikan.
