Overview Lewis Lake Campground—elevation 7,800 ft (2377 m)—is about twelve miles (19 km) from the South Entrance and a short walk from the southeast shore of Lewis Lake. The maximum total vehicle length in the campground is 25 feet (7.5 m) . Water is only available from July 1st-October 1st. A boat ramp is located near the campground information and registration area. Canoes, kayaks, and motor boats are allowed on Lewis Lake. The park requires a boat permit and park staff will perform an aquatic invasive species inspection. Learn more on the park's Boat on a Lake web page. Charges & Cancellations No-Shows: A no-show visitor is one who does not arrive at a campground and does not cancel the reservation by check-out time on the day after the scheduled arrival date. Staff will hold a campsite until check-out time on the day following the arrival date. A $20.00 service fee plus the first night's rate, taxes and applicable add-ons apply. Early Departures: Notify staff at the facility if you depart early to allow others to use the site. You may be eligible for a partial refund. If a visitor requests a refund for an early departure after the facility check-out time (10 a.m.), the visitor will not receive a refund for that night.

What is the weather like at Lewis Lake Campground?
Yellowstone's weather can vary greatly within a day and throughout the park. Snow can fall every month of the year. Summer highs reach 70–80°F (25–30°C) during the day, but nights can be cool (and it may freeze at higher elevations). During spring and fall, daytime highs range from 30–60°F (0–20°C), with overnight lows below freezing.
What are the rules at Lewis Lake Campground?
Overnight camping or parking is only allowed in designated campgrounds or campsites. Campsite occupancy is limited to six people per site. Checkout time is 10 am. Camping is limited to 14 days from July 1 through Labor Day, and 30 days for the rest of the year. There is no stay limit at the Fishing Bridge RV Park. Unless posted otherwise, wood and charcoal fires are permitted in all campgrounds except the Fishing Bridge RV Park. Propane grills and stoves are usually unaffected by fire restrictions. All odorous items that may attract bears, including food, cooking gear, toiletries, and garbage, must be kept secured when not in use. Bear-proof storage boxes are available at many campsites. Where permitted, generators may only be operated from 8 am to 8 pm (60 dB limit). Generators are not permitted at Indian Creek, Lewis Lake, Pebble Creek, Slough Creek, or Tower Fall.
