When vault toilets are unavailable, campers must bring portable toilets for use and proper disposal into the sewer system. Quiet hours 10pm-6am. $12 per night. The nearby Hite area is currently closed to the public.

How do I get to Dirty Devil Primitive Camping Area?

From Hanksville, Ut: Drive south on Hwy 95 about 44 miles. Turn right onto dirt road where the fee station and vault toilets are. There will be a small brown sign indicating the Dirty Devil Shoreline Access Area as you approach the turnoff, but none at the turnoff. Once you pay your camping fee, you can camp wherever you choose along the Dirty Devil River within Glen Canyon NRA boundaries.

What are the rules at Dirty Devil Primitive Camping Area?

Camping is limited to 14 consecutive days and no more than 30 days total in the park in any calendar year. Quiet hours are 10 pm to 6 am, unless otherwise posted. Campfires are allowed in NPS-provided receptacles (fire rings and grills) and along Lake Powell's shoreline below high-water level (3,700 feet), except within developed areas. Do not leave trash in fire rings. Fireworks are illegal. While camping in the Dirty Devil Shoreline Access Area is available, currently vehicles are not permitted within those boundaries.
