South Maxwell Snow Shelter can be accessed from the Maxwell Sno-park, by skiing or snowshoeing through intersections #1 or #7 (see snow-park map) from the parking lot. The shelter is open for day use and overnight stays. Overnight maximum capacity is 4 persons. It has a wood stove, no door, and a gravel floor. Please report any misuse, vandalism, or suggestions to the Detroit Ranger District.
