CLOSED DUE TO FIRE: Sites south of the Olallie Lake, including Peninsula CG, Horseshoe Lake CG, and Skyline Rd, suffered extensive damage in Lionshead Fire and subsequent winter storm blowdown and will NOT reopen this year. Located on the high and lovely Horseshoe Lake. Located just south of Monon Lake in the Olallie Scenic Area, Horseshoe Lake Campground is sandwiched between the shoreline of Horseshoe Lake and NF-4220. Due to the area 's remote nature, although the campsites are just off of NF-4220, few vehicles pass by which makes this outdoor recreation area so special. The lake, as the name might imply, is horseshoe-shaped with a small channel leading to the lake's southern half. Recreational activities include hiking, fishing, and non-motorized boating.
