Mortimer Gulch campground is located close to Gibson Reservoir with 26 campsites available for use. Fishing for rainbow or cutthroat trout in the reservoir and in the North Fork of the Sun River is an excellent way to spend the weekend away during the summer months. It is highly recommended that a4WD vehicle is used to reach the cement boat ramp (1/2 mile away).Bears may frequent the area; keep all food out of sight in approved containers and remove all food from area after eating. Mandatory food storage is required.

No. Mortimer Gulch Campground charges a fee. It is managed by the USFS. Sites are reservable through fs.usda.gov.
The season on record runs May 24 to December 1. Dates move with weather and with the managing office, so check before a shoulder-season trip.
From Augusta, take Manix Street west about 4 miles, then west about 22 miles on Forest Road 108. Much of this road is unpaved.
