Sacajawea Memorial Picnic Area is located at an elevation of 7,400 feet. The picnic area is for day use only. This is a secluded area, located at the headwaters of the Missouri River. There is a paved path for strolling the area along with historical interpretive signs to provide additional information to visitors. There are vault toilets and picnic tables as well as fire rings with attached grill tops at this site.

Yes. Sacajawea Memorial Picnic Area is free to use. It is managed by the USFS.
From Dillon travel 19 miles south on Interstate 15. Take Highway 324 west for 12 miles to Grant, continue on Highway 324 for 10 miles, then turn west on Forest Road 3909 for 12 miles.
