About this place

Lake Delancy West is; an OHV recreation area along Lake Delancy that houses; OHV corrals, access to numerous marked OHV trails along the Ocala North OHV Trail System; and camping along the lake. The recreation area also serves as a trailhead and designated campground along the hiking-only Florida Trail. Camping Tent and small trailer camping is; available at 30 sites within the pine forest along the western shore of Lake Delancy. All sites are within close proximity to the OHV corral, the; Ocala North OHV Trail System; and the; Florida Trail. Heads up: Bears do frequent this area. You are required to store your food in a bear-proof container or in your vehicle. Fishing We provide access to the lakeshore marshes for fishing. Perfect for tossing one on the fire for dinner while camping. Hiking Backpackers use the Lake Delancy West Recreation Area as a designated campground along the; Florida Trail. The campground is 0. 3 mile from the main trail. Segments of the Florida Trail run north and south of this point:;North heads from; Lake Delancy to Rodman Reservoir and south runs to Salt Springs. OHV Riding OHV riders are welcome to camp at Lake Delancy, the major entrance point for the; Ocala North OHV Trail System. A large OHV corral outside of the campground area gives you a place to park your ATV at night. Picnicking Day users can enjoy a picnic with a view of Lake Delancy while sitting under the shade of the longleaf pines.
