LOCATION:Red Dirt Reservoir is located in the Gore Pass area off HWY134 in the Routt National Forest. It is approximately 40 miles east of Yampa in between the towns of Yampa and Kremmling.DESCRIPTION:Small area offering dispersed camping at the reservoir and rainbow trout fishing. Red Dirt Reservoir is managed by the Yampa Ranger District.RECREATION OPPORTUNITIES: Fishing, hiking, mountain biking, and scenery viewing.KNOW BEFORE YOU GO: The area was burned in 2018 by the Silver Creek Fire so visitors can expect to still see a burn scar. Please be aware of snags and do not camp under dead, burned trees for your safety. SERVICES: 1 vault toilet, no potable water, no trash serviceCAMPING TRAILER USE: For those traveling with trailers, beware there are no pull-throughs which can make turning around difficult depending on the traffic and usage of others during your stay. FIRE RESTRICTIONS: Fire bans and restrictions can take place at any time. Please check with the Yampa Ranger Station prior to arrival for current restrictions970-638-4516

Directions from Yampa: Travel south on Hwy 131 approximately 11 miles to Hwy 134. Go east on Hwy 134 approximately 20 miles to Forest Development Road 100. Go north on FDR 100 about 8 miles to FDR 101. Go north on FDR 101 about 2 miles to Red Dirt Reservoir.
