Formerly a Forest Service guard station, Jackson Cabin is now available for public rental. This primitive cabin can sleep four. It has no electricity or water, but it has other basic amenities. Jackson Cabin is located in the heart of the Silver Jack Recreation Area and is convenient to many recreation opportunities.

No. Jackson Cabin charges a fee. It is managed by the USFS. Sites are reservable through fs.usda.gov.
From Montrose, CO, travel east on Hwy 50 for approximately 20 miles. Turn south onto County Road 858, Big Cimarron Road, and continue for approximately 20 miles. Shortly after passing Silver Jack Reservoir on the right, the Jackson Guard Station will be on the left. From Gunnison: Travel west on Hwy 50 for approximately 43 miles. Turn left on County Road 858, Big Cimarron Road, and continue for approximately 20 miles. Shortly after passing Silver Jack Reservoir on the right, the Jackson Guard Station will be the left.
