Yes. Hay Press Camping Area is free to use. It is managed by the USFS. It is a dispersed area, so there are no hookups, no water and no trash service unless a report below says otherwise.
From Grand Junction go W on Grand Ave. Turn on Monument Road. through East entrance of Colorado National Monument on Rim Rock Road. Turn left 0.6 miles after Cold Shivers Point overlook on DS road Glade Park sign. Turn left at Glade Park, go approximately 10 miles on S 16.5 Road to Forest boundary. Go 2 miles on Forest Rt. 400. Turn right at bathroom and parking area.
This is bear country: campers must properly store food and other attractants.
