Near Big Meadows Reservoir. Big Meadows Reservoir is 600 acres and is a no-wake lake. Big Meadows is 1 1/2 miles west of U.S. Highway 160, 11.6 miles west of South Fork. The campground meanders up a mountainside above Big Meadows Reservoir in a series of loops. It is attractive and located among a heavy variety of conifers and Aspen trees. The boat ramp and Archuleta Trail are co-located across the reservoir from the campground. HIKING: Cascade Falls Trail (foot) - 0.25 miles, Archuleta Trail #839 (horse and foot) - 6 miles accesses the Weminuche Wilderness. FISHING: Rainbow, Brown and Brook Trout" Fishing (for stocked fish), hunting, and boating at the reservoir.

Directions from Del Norte, Colorado: Travel 27.5 miles west on U.S. Highway 160 to Forest Road # 410. Take FR # 410 west for 1.4 miles to "Y" intersection (Forest Rd. 410). Bear left onto Rd. 410 and go 0.4 miles into campground. Directions from South Fork, Colorado: Travel west on U.S. Highway 160 8.0 miles to Forest Road # 410. Take FR # 410 west for 1.4 miles to "Y" intersection (Forest Rd. 410). Bear left onto Rd. 410 and go 0.4 miles into campground.
