No. Lake George Campground charges a fee. It is managed by the USFS. Sites are reservable through fs.usda.gov.
How do I get to Lake George Campground?
Take US 395 to State Highway 203. Head west to and through the town of Mammoth Lakes. Hwy 203 becomes Main Street, and then becomes Lake Mary Road which will lead to the Lakes Basin. Past the 1st lake take the 3rd left. Over the bridge take a right and drive up the hill to Lake George and the campground.
What are the rules at Lake George Campground?
Dogs must always be on leash and under owner control. Maximum stay 14 days. Active bear area. All food must be secured overnight and when not attended; bear boxes are provided and must be used (typical bear box size 48" x 30" x 36"). Always keep a clean camp and do not feed wildlife.
