About this place

Located 19 miles east of Springville, California, take State Highway 190 to the community of Camp Nelson. Turn onto Nelson Drive and follow the signs through town. Elevation is 4,800 feet. Open from April 15-October 31depending on weather conditions. The campground has 15 single family units. Trailers are not permitted. Vault toilets, potable water, tables, and BBQ stoves are provided. Nearby hiking trails pass through giant sequoia groves. Belknap Creek runs through the campground and the Middle Fork of the Tule River is within walking distance. Fishing is available year around in the Tule River Drainage with a valid CA Fishing License. Consult CA Dept of Fish and Wildlife for specific regulations. Supplies are available at Camp Nelson and Pier point Springs located within 2 miles of the campground. Rocky Mountain Recreation (RMR)All developed campground areas on the Forest operate under a concessionaire permit with RMR.
