About this place
The One Duck shelter is a three sided camping shelter at the top of a steep alpine hiking trail (One Duck Trail.) The shelter offers amazing views of the surrounding mountains and a nice base camp for hiking, hunting, or skiing in the winter. Shelter includes a fire ring and four sleeping platforms. First-come, first served. The alpine area is good for deer hunting as well as cross country and back country skiing.

How do I get to this site?
The shelter is located at the top of One Duck Trail (a 1.1 mile steep alpine trail.) The trailhead is located on the Hydaburg Road (paved) approximately 2½ miles after the Hollis-Klawock Highway intersection. The parking lot is on the west side of the road while the trail starts on the east side. USGS Map: Craig B-3.
